Pack 20 is a family pack for boys and girls in kindergarten through fifth grade. Campfires at Camp Seton, the Pinewood Derby, a sleepover at the museum, and the St. Patrick's Day parade down Greenwich Avenue. We are entirely run by parent volunteers, and we would love to meet you.

Thrilling outdoor excursions, real wilderness skills, and enough time in the woods that the kids stop asking where the wifi is.
Confidence, integrity, and the chance to lead. Each month follows a point of the Scout Law, from trustworthy in September to brave in June.
Strong bonds with kids from the same schools, and real service to Cos Cob, Connecticut: beach cleanups, meal prep for local charities, flags on Memorial Day.
Pack 20 is fully run by parent volunteers, with support from the full-time staff of the Greenwich Scouting Council. Five of our parents are Eagle Scouts. Most have no scouting experience whatsoever, and that has never been a problem.
Two meetings a month, plus optional extras. Here is the shape of it before you commit to anything.
Your scout meets with their own grade, in a small group led by a parent. This is where the adventures get earned. Locations vary by den.
The whole pack, kindergarten through fifth grade, together. Awards, ceremonies, and the big stuff: Camp Seton, Bowman Observatory, the Pinewood Derby.
Rank advancement follows the national program. Each rank has six required adventures covering character, the outdoors, fitness, citizenship, safety, and family, plus elective adventures the den picks.
Parents stay and take part for the whole event. Leaders are always present, but Scouting works best when families do it together and talk about it at home afterward.
One camping overnight at Camp Seton right here in Greenwich, and one somewhere unusual. We slept on the Intrepid in 2024–25 and at the Norwalk Aquarium in 2025–26.
Extra outings at interesting venues, usually at a group discount. Hawk Watch Fest, a Fordham football game, snowtubing at Powder Ridge, a Broadway show. Come to none or all of them.
Dens are grouped by grade, each with its own rank and its own six required adventures. Den leader spots marked in orange are open, and we would love your help filling them.

Pack 20 meets on average twice a month: once as a den and once as a pack. Optional gatherings, events and campouts are there for families who want more, as your child's schedule allows.

Joining Pack 20 is an investment in your child, and we keep the numbers transparent. A full year is $465: $165 to the councils and $300 to the pack.

We are actively looking for den leaders and assistant den leaders, especially for the Lion, Tiger and Wolf dens. If you have ever thought "somebody should run that," this is your invitation.
You do not need a scouting background. Most of our leaders had none. What you need is a willingness to complete a background check and the free online training, and then to show up.

David JonesCubmasterThe Greenwich Council was chartered in 1912, with the author and naturalist Ernest Thompson Seton, a founder of the BSA, as its first Council President. It celebrated its centennial in 2012. It is unusual among councils in serving a single town and a single district, the Black Wolf District.
In 1960 the council dedicated Ernest Thompson Seton Scout Reservation. Camp Seton has campsites, lean-tos and cabins, two lakes, five miles of hiking trails, an outdoor pool and a forty-foot climbing tower. Our scouts are there for the fall campout, the Fishing Derby, the Cuboree and more.

All leaders are volunteer parents. To become a leader we must undergo a background check and complete Youth Protection Training, which addresses sexual abuse and child abuse prevention and identification.
At the end of the day we are just a bunch of moms and dads trying to plan great experiences for our children. All volunteers take their roles very seriously, and that means caring for each and every scout.
Meetings are not drop-off. We ask parents to be present throughout the activity. Leaders are there, but it's important that all parents remain on site.
Scouting is something we encourage you to engage with as a family. The lessons from a hike, a craft, a game or an activity are things worth talking about and reinforcing at home.

Arrow of Light scouts cross over to a Scouts BSA troop, where the program shifts to patrols and merit badges. Greenwich has troops, and the council can help you find the right fit.
New families get hit with a lot of vocabulary in the first month. Here's the short version.
3:00 to 5:00 PM. Intro to Scouting, with the whole pack together.
